Several users have taken to Twitter to confirm if there is indeed a problem or is it just happening with them
NEW DELHI, INDIA: ''502. That's an error. The server encountered a
temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again
in 30 seconds. That's all we know,'' If you are getting this message
when you log in to Gmail, you are probably not the only one who is facing this problem.
Gmail seems to be down yet again in India. This is the fourth time
it's happening over the past few months. ''Gmail goes down once again...
One of the things you don't want to happen when your business is built
on top of it,'' tweets a user.
Ostensibly, it might be because of IP communications issues between
Google servers catering to India. In Google's support page words,
"Whenever you're seeing a 'Temporary Error (502)' message when you try
to sign in to Gmail, it means that your mail is temporarily unavailable.
These errors generally resolve themselves within a few minutes, so
please wait a bit before trying to log in again."
On May 13 it was persistent for more than an hour. The previous two
occasions of Gmail outage were on May 2 and May 8. Today, however, after
suffering a brief outage, Gmail seems to be back.
