The Google LG Nexus 4 is however quite expensive
when compared to the price tag the smartphone carries in the US
NEW DELHI, INDIA: The Google LG Nexus 4 was finally launched in Singapore last week. However, the 16GB version of the LG Nexus 4 costs US $556, which is expensive by $162 over the price of the same version (US$349) in the US, according to a report on CNET Asia.
The report also mentions that rumors are indicating the handset will be launching in India soon. Another report on iTechPost says the the LG Nexus 4 is going to be launched in India by the end of this month at the price of Rs. 24,000.
However, rumors and speculations on the India launch of the LG Nexus 4
have been doing the rounds ever since the smartphone was unveiled last
year. Consumers are ''upset'' about the unavailability of the smartphone
in the country.
'This is unfortunate. It is more of a loss for LG and Google than for Indians, as they will source it from where ever they can for the best possible price. Indians are Smart,'' says a consumer on CIOL.
''It shows hypocrisy from Google, having an R&D office in inida, having an Indian heading Android and Chrome product but not introducing the flagship phone here,'' says another consumer.
Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt, who was in India to attend the Google Big Tent Activate Event in March, said that they were working on making the device available in India. Apologising for that, he also added that the Nexus devices do not remain low-cost and end up costing more in India.
That said, after going through all the reports and rumors, are you still waiting eagerly for the LG Nexus 4 launch in India? Do let us know.
